Installing iis RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've just got a new PC and want to install iis on it - I didn't get a windows disk with my new PC and thought that through control panel/add remove programs/Windows components I would be able to add iis but it doesn't appear in that list. Does any one how I can install iss on my machine?

    Thanks in advance

  • You Cant...... Windows XP doesnt support IIS. You need windows server for that or get a third party product - apache or something

XP home doesn't support iis ( at least it doesn't unless you jump thru a lot of hoops )

XP Pro, however, does. XP pro also supports SQL Server

  • You need to have Windows CD..

Now select windows Installation component kinda thing in Control Panel >>Add/Remove Softwares

Then select IIS Installation in one of the options .. it's there only ..

It will ask for CD and then start installation .. and there goes your IIS...:)
