WGA Kit Licensing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I wanted to inquire if "Windows Genuine Advantage Kit" that is purchased online, can be transfered to another machine like FPP license, or is it tied to the hardware like OEM license (once it's activated)?

Is it any different from "Get Genuine Kit" that is purchased from a reseller?

I have found the following information that states that GGK cannot be transfered to another computer:

    http://www.microsoft.com/oem/en/licensing/antipiracy/Pages/get_genuine_kit.aspx

I'd be grateful if you could provide me with an official information from Microsoft regarding WGA Kit licensing.

    Regards,

    Ma'ayan.

  • The "Windows Genuine Advantage Kit" is solely licensed for the computer that has or had the non-genuine Windows license installed.  It is non-transferrable to a different computer.

  • Thank you for your response, Carey.

Can you please refer me to a Microsoft official webpage that states that WGA Kit \ GGOK cannot be transferred to another computer?

    Regards,

    Ma'ayan.
