Confusion about Windows Live OneCare and Vista AntiVirus RRS feed

  • Question

I have an issue with my computer in which yesterday I got a popup in which Vista AntiVirus did a scan and found that I had about 40 threats on my computer and I didn't even know that I had anything on my computer that had to do with this computer.  However, when I clicked on remove the threats it asked me to pay $50 for a year of protection.  On the other hand, I have been doing a basic scan with Windows Live OneCare every night ever since I got connected with Qwest DSL and had no such threats.  Last night I did a full system scan and still found no such threats.  Do I really need to get different antivirus software or is this just some kind of ploy by vista to get me to buy their product.  If so, I keep getting popups from them that tell me that my computer is being attacked and I wish it would stop.
