Configure CRM Email Router with CRM Online RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have

    1. Configured the email router installed on my local development box with Exchange Online and CRM Online.
    2. Setup the neccessary users to use the email router for outgoing and incoming email.

However when I create a new E-mail Activity addressed to one of the users who is supposed to use the email router for incoming email and click send the email does not go to the destination user.

My concern is that the email router is installed on my dev box which is not accessible from outsides.  Could this be the issue.  Actually I am not sure how the router communicates with the CRM Online.

  • - What's the status of the email activity in CRM? Pending send?

    - As long as your email router can be successfully, it can process your emails for receive an send.

As the email router configuration manager has three tabs "Profiles" "Deployment" and "User, Queues and Forward Mailbox", its working mechanisim is as it is.

Profile is the connection to exchange server; Deployment is the connection to CRM server; UsersQueues and Forward Mailbox is the combination of exchange server and CRM server.

--When an email activity is created in CRM, email router will get notified and will get the email activity information; then it will promot this email to the configured exchange server to send it out

--When an email is received to a mail account which is configured in email router, email router will get notified by the exchange server; then it will grab the email info and promot it to CRM.
