Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool

  I am not sure but I think the "microsoft removal tool" or MRT seems to be running in a loop, and i have a command prompt window that keeps opening and closing in a flash. about every 15 min or so. How can i find out for sure what is causing it? I am pretty sure that it started the first time I downloaded MRT. Thank-you
