Tracked Outlook items in removed CRM organization, keep tracking information RRS feed

  • Hello everyone.

    We are currently performing a Dynamics CRM on-premise 2013 to Dynamics CRM Online migration. The client is currently testing the system using the CRM client for Outlook. The client also uses Exchange Online and server side sync.

    We installed the CRM client for Outlook on a user's PC and successfully connected to the Online deployment. Note that the particular PC, DID NOT have the CRM client for Outlook ever installed. However the user did have the CRM client for Outlook installed, on an older PC, which is not functional now.

    What happens is the following.

    Emails that have been tracked in CRM, with the previous CRM organization, on the older PC, still appear on the new PC. When the user clicks on the CRM record, he of course gets an error, because it's linked to the older organization which is not present now.

    We don't understand this behavior. Why are the older tracked emails still appearing in the new PC? Do they "carry" the CRM tracking information with them, in any system (because there's server side synchronization configured)?

    Is there a way to delete older tracking information from the emails? What if I remove the emailcache.sdf database from the user roaming folder?

    Any ideas would be very appreciated.
