Moving To SQL Server 2012 and Sync not work RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

we make an effort to move our app to Azure VM using Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012. In the past we are using Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2 and the sync framework successfully to sync between SQL lite and SQL Server 2008.

However, when we deploy the solution to the new server we got this issue (pic), any clue about our issue?

An exception of type 'Microsoft.Synchronization.Data.DbVersionException' occurred in Microsoft.Synchronization.Data.SqlServer.dll but was not handled in user code

Additional information: The schema info could not be retrieved from the schema info table.

  • shouldn't be a problem moving to SQL 2012, are you sure you're using Sync Fx 2.1?

  • Yes, i'm sure... i already downgrade to SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows Server 2012, but the problem still happen

In the past our team use SQL Server 2008. Can somebody tell me is it Sync FX problem or OS/SQL Server problem?

  • never had that exception in any of the SQL Server versions... can you run SQL Profiler and check the actual SQL being sent, run the SQL manually and post both SQL and result here.
