Off Topic: downgrade from vista to XP RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I purchased a Toshiba A135-S4477 laptop with Vista. I then found that several key applications in my office would not work on Vista. For this reason, I decided to downgrade to Windows XP. I have been able to get dirvers for most of the devices. I still cannot get the sound to work.

Under control panel, it indicates that there are no audio devices.

    In Device Manager,

Sound, Video and game controllers: all these indicate they are working properly, but there is no mention of any hardware device.

    Audio codecs

    Legacy Audio drivers

    Legacy Video capture devices

    Media control devices

    Video codecs

    System Devices:

    Direct Memory access controller--no drivers

intel 82801G (ICH7 Family) SMBus Controller--No drivers installed

Intel 82802 Firmware Hub device--no dirvers installed

    Motherboard resources--no drivers

    Numeric data processor--no driver

    Programmable interrupt controller--no drivers

    System timer--no drivers

Any ideas about how to approach this?

    Thanks,
