User's cannot run reports in MS Access 2003 on Terminal Server 2003 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are having an issue where user's cannot run queries/reports on MS Access 2003 database when they are not administrators.

By default the database has everyone as an administrator to the database.

When they are added to the administrator group in Active Directory they can run queries/reports without any issues, but when you remove the administrator right's they can open the database and get errors when they try to run queries/reports.  I have taken the database and copied it to a Terminal Server session with the same results.

I have disabled all GPO's with the same results.  I ran Process Monitor "FileMon/RegMon" on the session and I can only see results when I an administrator. So I cannot see any errors that may be coming up when I am a user.

Does MS Access change it's on rights dependent upon what rights a user is connected as? So if I am an administrator I have full rights to do everything, where as User's are only given a few capabilities.  I have also for testing created a User to the database. I gave them full admin rights within the database, but had the same results.

At this point I have exhausted everything I can to fix this, without making everyone an admin.

Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
