wrong location for client computer backups RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had a failure in my RAID array which required a drive replacement. When the array was rebuilt, everything was fine except the Client Computer Backup folder. Somehow, the location for this folder was changed to D: (a drive outside of the RAID). Looking at the backups for all client computers show "No backups available". Using Explorer, the RAID array shows a folder Server Folders/Client Computer Backups as containing 260 GB of data which I think are the real backups. What is the best way to change WHS to see the real data?  Would moving the folder overwrite the "good" data with the empty folder?

    Thanks John

  • I needed to get the backups running again so I tried:

Renamed the "good" RAID" folder to "RAID Client Computer Backups".

Using the WHS Dashboard, moved the empty D: folder to the RAID.

Using Windows Explorer, renamed the moved folder to "New Client Computer Backups".

Using Windows Explorer, renamed "RAID Client Computer Backups" to "Client Computer Backups".

    It worked !!!

    Appeaars everything is good.
