Solution for transactional replication/synchronisation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would firstly like to begin by placing the forum in context with regards to the problem we are experiencing.

    1. We currently make use of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011.
    2. We have already created many custom entities based on business requirements.
    3. We make use of “Simego Data Syncronisation Studio” to synchronise information that we require within Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011.

The problem is that there are +-1.3 million records that have to be synchronised and it is currently taking +-14 hours.

The method that Simego makes use of is pulling the information from both the source and destination, after that, it compares the data, then writes and updates the required information.

Please advise if there is a solution that will provide transactional replication/synchronisation between our business system (Microsoft SQL 2008 R2) and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011.

    Best Regards

  • You haven't specified whether you're using two-way or one-way synchronisation. Either way, I'd suggest starting by identifying only the records that have changed since the last synchronisation. All CRM records have a modifiedon attribute that you could use for this.

  • Hi David,

Yes, I forgot to mention: The synchronization is from SQL to CRM and carries no "modified on" through to CRM.

Just a thought: Is this where BizTalk 2010/2013beta could do the trick with regards to its adapters ?

    Thanks!

  • David,

We've decided to add the last modified on table to SQL, so thank you for the idea.

  • Hi,

Just an update, due to the great work by the Dynamics team around Batch and Execute multiple requests, that 1.3 Million records should only take about an hour.

    Disclaimer: I work for Simego
