WHS2011 booting into system recovery? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just installed WHS2011 and all went well. Updates, clients connected shares set up and added a second hard drive.

I have a SuperMicro SAT2-MV8 card that I used in my WHS v1. When I loaded the drivers inWHS2011 I got a message saying the drivers were not verified and they did not load. I was still able to use the dashboard and setup the rest of the server though.

I then felt it was time for a restart of my system: BUT now when ever I try to restart (5-6 times now) the system boots into System Recovery Options! I gives me 3 options:

    1) System Image Recovery

    2) Windows Memory Diagnostic (which I did and passed)

    3) Command Prompt

What are my options now. Seems like something got hosed, and a re-install seems my only option. Like I said above, and my clients are setup, homegroup, shares, etc.

    Any suggestions?

  • Did you find an answer to this?

Been running my WHS2011 for a month or so. This morning I could not access it. I hook it up to a monitor and it is trying to do a System Recovery.

I am guessing there was a Windows Update that required a reboot and then it has not been booting up?

    Any suggestions?
