Can't edit N:1 relationship mappings on custom entity? RRS feed

    Greetings all, 

    I have a question about relationship mappings and custom entities. I have a custom entity (created as an activity and available in the Activities menu) called Sample Requests. In the Contacts entity I have a 1:N relationship from Contacts -> Sample Requests. I want to edit the mappings in this relationship so that when I create a Sample Request for a specific contacts certain data is populated from the Contact to the Sample Request. For whatever reason when I open the relationship there is no Mappings section. I've done this for OOB entities/activities with no problem. Is this a limitation of the software or am I doing something wrong?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,

    As far as I remember, you cannot make mapping between activity entities and the "other" entities which are mapped using the "Regarding" field. I personally see this as something similar to a bug or lack of expected function but that just seems to be how CRM works. You can create a workaround by making javascripts that exectute onload on the "Sample Request" and use the REST API to get the data from CRM that you need from the contact.
