Microsoft update ruined live onecare RRS feed

  • Question

  • The most recent framework update put my subscription to onecare in the red saying it need to be updated and then wouldn't allow it to be updated. I did not write down the error code that would come up. Sorry.
I believe I followed the wrong help topic and uninstalled my subscription that had five months left on it, ran the onecare cleaner and reinstalled what was supposed to be the 90 day free trial subscription.
I can't figure out how to have my paid subscription recognized and on top of that it has only given me a 15 day trial and is now acting glitchy by telling me I need to back up my files twice in the 24 hours that this has happened.
Please help. I like this product very much and want to regain the five months of protection that I had left.

  • Hello crydiox, open the One Care trial, select "Subscribe" and when asked for a Live ID enter the Live ID and password associated with your One Care subscription. One Care will activate. Since you previously uninstalled One Care and used the cleanup tool you will have to re-configure all of your personalized One care settings including backup.

  • Thanks Jim, however I tried it and it states that the Live Id entered is not yet associated with a one care subscription. I don't understand why this would be.

  • This message us usually caused by using an incorrect Live ID. If you have One Care installed on another computer open One Care>Help>About Windows Live One Care and you will see the Live ID associated with your One Care subscription. If you don't have One Care installed on another computer and cannot recall the correct Live ID support should be able to help you. • I know this is all good advise. It should be working but when I attempt to pull up help options through One Care, this comes up "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete"

I am totally baffled as to what happened.

One Care was a perfect program for me until the latest net framework update.

I patiently and appreciatively look forward to any and all assistance in my unusual problem.

Thanks again Jim, if there is anything else you can think of or any where to look or any one to ask or talk to about this I welcome the advice.
