Validation problem on some computer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have a strange problem on some workstation we have. We are using a corporate windows xp license key and all the computer are using that key.

I have 3 computer that are having some problem. When we try to install Windows Media Player 11 we have the error message that the license key is not valid but it's the same key that we are using for all the other computer (around 800).

Is there anything that can be done to correct the problem?

    Thanks

Answers

  • Ok I have fixed the problem using the diagnostic tool (thx for the info) and the tool to validate the license number wasn't installed.

So I have clicked on the resolve button and I have installed the activeX control and my problem is now fixed.

  • Hi Krovax,

I think I know what might be the issue, but to confirm, would you download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool (on one of the coputers having the problem) at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 , then click the Windows tab, Copy, then Paste the report into a response message in this thread.

    Thank you,
