Motherboard failure RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • By swapping my power supply and motherboard, I found both to be dead. I had a replacement power supply and ordered a new motherboard, compatible with the existing CPU. After installing new chipset, LAN and USB drivers, and upon powering on, the Windows Server 2003 logo appeared with WHS, of course, requiring a new key because of such a change in hardware. After so doing, the server loaded, prompted me to install new drivers for audio. Apparently the already installed SATA driver(s) also worked with the new motherboard. WHS resumed where it had left off and resumed backing up. Unbelievable.
