Why is there a TRIAL when I purchased One Care? RRS feed

  • I purchased a ONE CARE and installed it on this PC with activation code.  This was before I had Broadband. I have Windows Internet Explorer7, Provided by Qwest. It gave me a 90 day trial for One Care which is due to expire...It seems to be overideing the original One Care I installed with the activation code. How do I get One Care to read my purchase information?


    I already tried to sign in with my "live" sign in but it says there is no prescription?????

  • You need to activate the subscription with your primary Qwest LiveID, according to the instructions on their site:



    If that isn't activating the product, then contact Qwest support to determine what the problem is.

  • I just did exactly as you stated...but it said that "only one copy is available for this computer".   It suggested on unistall and reinstall it.  But after reading the open forum here there is alot of people that have done this and still have problems with it.  I do not have the original Once Care C.D. I purchased, but I do have the 25 key product code.  Any more suggestions?

  • Ah, I overlooked a very important piece of information - you actually purchased OneCare and are not using the free Qwest subscription.

    Since you have the key code, you can contact support who can tell you what LiveID to use to activate with.

  • And, I'll add that you might be able to determine the correct LiveID and your subscription status by going to http://billing.microsoft.com with email addresses that you have set up as LiveIDs and one will show your subscription listed - that would the LiveID to use to activate with.


    Do note that Qwest does offer OneCare for free for subscribers. So, you can abandon your original paid subscription and get help from Qwest in getting the account straightened out so that your installed copy can be activated with the LiveID that ties back to their account information for the qualifying ID.
