RetrieveMultiple timeouts on a small set of records RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everyone,

    I came across a curious problem while building a simple query in CRM 2013.

    I am trying to execute the following query:

    QueryExpression query = new QueryExpression
                {
                    EntityName = "account",
                    ColumnSet = new ColumnSet(true),
                    Criteria = new FilterExpression()
                };

                EntityCollection result = service.RetrieveMultiple(query);

    It works fine for account, however if I change the EntityName to one of my custom entities', I receive a timeout after 2 minutes wait. The curious thing is that the custom entity currently has only ~20 records in the system, so retrieve should be almost instantaneous. The problem originally came up in a silverlight component, but I also tested the issue from a console app with the same results.

    Any Ideas?

    Regards,

    Adam

  • I did not manage to find any explanation to this behavior, but restarting the server resolved the issue.

    Hello Adam,

    I believe your issues were related to deadlocks on SQL level.
