  • You are using a KMS volume license.  You need to contact the KMS administrator associated with Tech Soup for activation info.  KMS requires connection to specific servers.  Hosts activated via a KMS have to report back to that key server once every 180 days

    It’s STILL a KMS Key, rather than a true Upgrade Key – nothing is going to change that
    You need to get in touch with Tech Soup and query your purchase, as it would appear that you have been mis-sold a Volume License Key, rather than a Retail Upgrade (which is what I assume you expected)
