Add Calculated field in View and Export data to Excel 2007 format. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am using CRM 4.0 and my questions are:
    1. Every time I export data to excel 2003 format, the extension of the file is xls. I have already used Office 2007. How to make CRM 4.0 export data to excel 2007 format i.e. xlsx file extension?

    2. In Sales Opportunities, I have successfully added calculated field in the form using javascript added at Load Event. The name of the calculated field is weight revenue which equals to Estimated Revenue times Probability. Now I want to add it to the Open Opportunities view. I do not know how to fill the field with value. Where should I put javascript code in the view?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

  • 1: You can't change it: it is hard coded in the CRM dll's

2: You can't add javascript to views. So in your form, force the save of this calculated field and put the field in the form in a standard manner

My blog : http://mscrmtools.blogspot.com You will find: Form Javascript Manager (export/import javascript from forms) ISV.Config Manager (graphical ISV.config edition - export/import) View Layout replicator (customize one view and replicate to others) And others (use tool tag on my blog)

  • Hi Andrew,

Another option for item 2 is to have this calculation done by a workflow.    You can then run this workflow against all of your opportunity to calculate this field.  Here's a accelerator from Microsoft that adds the 'calculator' functionality to workflows.

  • Thanks Alex and Tanguy for the answers.

Regarding weighted revenue calculated field, I choose to use this link http://www.dynamicscrmtrickbag.com/2009/04/26/calculatedfields_wf/ to solve my problem.
