Reminder symbol on welcome/today screen on mobile for call forwarding/divert RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently upgraded my phone from a HTC M600 to a Samsung Omnia SGH-i900.

I do not have any mobile service when I am working from home so I usualy put my phone on divert and forward calls to my home number.

With my HTC there was no reminder or symbol to let me know that my mobile was diverting calls. This meant that on a few occasions a whole day would go by with me missing any incoming calls as they were still diverting to my home number.

When I upgraded my mobile phone recently to the samsung omnia I was assured that there would be a symbol/reminder to warn me that the phone was on divert - It does......sort of. The symbol is only visible when my phone is on the phone settings screen!! This is not helpful!!!

I need to see the Forward/Divert sybol on the opening screen just as much as my service, mail, battery symbols etc are shown!

Am I missing something?...... Can this be done?....... This is a feature that my antique nokia hanset incorporated nearly 10 years ago!! If it was considered a good idea then why has Windows Mobile not got it now?!!

  • That might be a good suggestion to send to Samsung miguel4868.  They might well incorporate it as well as have an answer for you if there is a way to do it.

  • Unfortunately samsung don't really have a forum to discuss this issue. You can only talk to an advisor in Ireland who seems to be going through the motions but not taking any real interest.

It really does seem almost impossible to get this problem properly aired or  acted upon as everyone seems to pass the buck - my service provider says not their problem, the manufacturer says not their problem, microsoft doesn't seem to have a live response service - where do you go?

I'm also having problems with the compatability between my relatively new Kenwood Bluetooth car kit (that uses Parrot Software) and my new Omnia - I'm beginning to wish that I had chosen differently!!
