Problem with Add Image during HPC 2008 Cluster Pack Config

    Question

  • I have installed the HPC Pack 2008 (CTP) on a Hyper-V(beta) hosted WS08-RTM VM designated as a headnode.

During the Cluster Pack wizard, when I try to create a Node Template, I select ADD IMAGE and point back to the original WS08(x64)-RTM install DVD and after about 10-15min of it going thru an Image Add, I get the following error:

    - [Error] Capturing Image failed: D:\, 112

    - [Warning] Change failed due to errors during execution

Any ideas how I get around this? (Also tried pointing to ISO image instead within the VM)..

Domain Controller is a separate server/VM.  All other steps appeared to work/configure correctly.

    Thanks!

  • Problem solved. Although VHD was enabled for dynamic expansion, VMhost was hosting a large nbr of VMs and ran out of space to expand. Once space freed up and disk allowed to expand, problem went away.
