"an unauthorized change was made to windows" REALLY NEED HELP PLEEEASE

    Question

  • The other day i tried to install windows service pack 1 because it said to install service pack 2, you must have 1 first. and i been having a blue crash screen so i figured it was because i didnt have sp2 so thats how this all began. So i went to windows updates and sp1 was there but when i tried to update it, it wasnt working. it was saying it updated but when i refreshed the updates page, it reappeared as if i never updated it. So i went online to microsoft and got the link manually and installed it, the computer was doing its thing, at the start up screen saying installing service pack 1 N/a% complete steps 1 of 3 dont turn off computer , everything looked fine as usual . one thing i did notice was that in step 3 of 3 i think, the computer somehow restarted and the screen with "unexpected shut down restart in safe mode, safe mode with something or start up as normal" . i just figured it was from the installing because i didnt unplug it or anything and when it started up again , it went right back to "installing service pack 1 N/a% complete steps 3 of 3 do not turn off computer" so i didnt htink anything of it but i just wanted to put that out there just in case that wasnt suppose to happen. but when it was done, the computer restarted and after it says welcome, it was just a black screen with a box that said "Windows software protection , an unauthorized change was made to windows, windows has discovered a change that will result in limited windows functionality. use the link below to find out how to fix windows." then 2 options to click "learn more online" or "close" so i clicked learn more online and a internet box opened up but it said jimmys dead, as if i didnt have internet or something. it just didnt connect at all. then i clicked close and it brought me back to the choose a user screen at start up and i restarted the computer and it started up as normal, everything was fine as if that black screen with that message didnt happen. a box popped up saying installation failed and i just closed it and went about my business, i was just so relieved that my computer was back to functioning and i didnt lose everything in it. so for about a day it was fine then today i came back from work and when i turned on my laptop, that black screen came up again. so i restarted it thinking it would switch back like last time and it went back to that same black screen with the message , then for a second time i restarted it and gladly it went back to my normal windows. my guess is if i dont fix something, this is going to keep happening to me until one day its not gunna switch back to my normal windows and is gunna stay stuck on that black screen with no functioning what so ever. can somebody pleasee tell me what to do and how to fix this and if even fix this problem THEN the blue crash screen problem, i would reallyyy appreciate it

  • You have an In-Memory Mod-Auth Tamper - often caused by malware, or faulty device drivers.

Have you installed any drivers in the past few days?

You are also running the RTM Vista - which went out of support some time ago. You need to install SP1 and SP2 as soon as possible - which may help prevent this type of problem.

I would suggest attempting to install SP1 through Windows Update - after a malware scan!

Please download and install  Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free version) from  http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ - UNtick 'Enable free trial of MBAM Premium' at the end of the installation -  and update it, then run a full scan  in your main account, and Quick scans in any other user accounts.

    Quarantine everything it finds

The go to Windows Update, and install everything offered. - in batches of 10 or so.

  • To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool

(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

     Once saved, run the tool.

Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.

To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.x

      - in your own thread, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
