Pop up box stating that I need to validate Windows EVEN after I've done this a dozen times RRS feed

  • A pop-up box tells me I need to validate - its pops up continually - beyond annoying!

    It reads:


    An unauthorized change was made to Windows

    You will no longer receive notifications including those about your license or activation. Use the link below to find out how to fix your system.

    When I click on this link, it sends me to:


    Further, though I'm not sure what they do, I've downloaded and run the following programs - all tell me the same information - VALIDATION SUCCESSFUL!...




    ...as well as several others as recommended by differing pages in the Microsoft site.

  • Hello dezthumper,


      Activation and Validation are two different things.


     Your problem is that you are using a KMS License, and the computer has been unable to connect with the KMS server to re-activate the license.

     KMS Licenses are issued in bulk to organizations.  The organization also buys and sets up a KMS Server within their network for all the KMS Clients to Activate against.

     If this Windows was provided to you as a member of such an organization, then you should contact your System Administrator for assistance in setting up your KMS Client to Activate against.

     If you were sold this software as a single user or the Windows was included on a computer you were sold, please return the software (or the computer) to the seller and demand a full refund.
