Microsoft Internet 7 Homepage Over-ride RRS feed

  • Question

  • Last week, the following link suddenly attached itself to our Internet Explorer:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx

What happens is when we hit the IE icon on our desktop, instead of going to our selected homepage, the above link is where we are taken. After this, we can hit the homepage icon in IE and then are taken to correct homepage. This added step is the problem.

We have tried everything to remove this problem, i.e. double checking the TOOLs in IE to ensure selected homepage is there, applying System Restore (have gone back two months with no correction to problem), running every anti-virus, spam tools and registry cleaners we can...also with no results.

If anybody can give a list of suggestions on how to eliminate this MS over-riding page from our computer, please advise to my home email address at:  dbeland50@cox.net

This is a major inconvenience and we would like to correct the problem. Thank you everybody for any help I can get.
