Extremely high CPU usage when using Mesh on a Notebook

Question
-
For a week now (maybe since the update was released) I'm having a problem with extremely high CPU usage of MOE.exe and explorer.exe.
This problem only exists on my notebook (Vista Ultimate x32), my PC (Vista Ultimate x64) is unaffected.
Even when the notebook is idle both processes consume about 80% of my processor and then suddenly its back to 0%.
Often it's 1 minute high usage, 1 minute no usage and 1 minute high again.
I'm not using 2 mesh accounts on the machine (Read about that issue in the forum)
I'm not constantly working with the 'Meshed' folders (So Mesh doesnt up/download anything during that time)
Thanks in advance.

Hi Simon,
We have a couple of open issues where MOE.exe uses the CPU excessively. Would you mind sending us your logs, so that we can try to find out what's going on in your case? The instructions for submitting a bug report with logs are below.
Thanks,
Ben.
------------------------------------------------
To submit a bug with your logs attached:
Please go to http://connect.microsoft.com/. Sign in and then select Live Mesh Tech Preview on Your Dashboard. Click Feedback and follow the instructions for collecting your logs and then submit a bug.
To get your logs:
1. Click Start.
2. Select All Programs and look for the Live Mesh folder.
3. Click Collect Live Mesh Logs.
4. Your logs will be bundled together in a cab file now located on your desktop.
Attach your LiveMeshLogs.cab file located on your desktop to your bug.Note: you will have to submit a bug first, then edit it to attach your logs.
If you do not have access to the Live Mesh Connect site, you can email your logs to lmprev@microsoft.com. Please provide as much information about your issue as you can in that email.

Hi Simon,
The Live Mesh client doesn't behave very well today if another program has files open while the Live Mesh client is trying to update the files to newer versions. We'll eventually converge into a "correct" state, but the client may churn CPU while waiting for the files to get unlocked. It looks like this is what's happening. You can get out of this state by closing the other program (in this case, an arcade racing game).
We'll have better throttling on this in the near future to address this CPU churn.
Thanks!
Richard

Sorry this is (really) late.
I'm not certain that it's just Trackmania. It could certainly be the sidebar, or anything else. All the logs show is that some other program has the files locked and we're unable to replace the files. If you're so inclined, what you could do is use a program like Process Explorer to see what programs have handles open to the files. If you've closed down everything else, feel free to update the bug with new logs in Connect.
Thanks!
Richard

Thanks Richard,
are you absolutely certain that Trackmania (the racing game) is causing this issue alone?
Because I'm also experiencing the cpu load when it isn't running.
I have mashed the user configs folder of that game along with my sidebar gadgets folder. When I edit some gadgets I think it is possible that mesh tries to update the files *after* the sidebar on the other pc has already loaded, could that be a problem as well?
I'm just asking because even when I close the game AND the sidebar the problem still persists.
Thanks

I recently had a problem where my CPU usage started to shoot to 100%. This started shortly after installing Mesh. I Googled for similar problems and many folks pointed to display drivers. Updated my display driver - no help. Had recently upgraded my anti-virus, so uninstalled that - no help. Finally, figured out that Mesh installed two display drivers of its own. Uninstalled those (eventually ditching Mesh entirely). Problem solved.
Don't think I'll be using such an intrusive program again, but thought I'd share in case others are having similar problems. This problem cost me many hours of debugging.

Thanks for posting your experience. It's too bad that you didn't submit a bug report with logs, though, to help identify *why* the Live Mesh curtain driver impacted your system in that way.

It's very old topic, but in 2011 i have the same issue on my both machines. I have setted up to sync folders with savegames and after that i have a lot of lags in games, after turning off Live Mesh client everything is ok. On another machine i didn't play games (in fact i have different sync folders on both machines), even if do not work with sync folder (modify/create/delete files) and folder is already synced moe.exe process loads cpu for about 20-40%.
