Microsoft is in big trouble RRS feed

  • Question

  • Either Microsoft is not expending resources on the Phone, or they have gone soft.  I cannot say how many times I have been very frustrated by the various items they provide for developers and the phone itself.  To wit:  1) the support forums do not work correctly.  2) I tried the 'create an app' feature, it was stone cold broke (and I was sure to use IE.)  3) on the phone, why are the settings categories not in alphabetical order?  It is incredibly stupid to have to hunt for the setting you wish to use...if they say there is an algorithm that decides, I will say back to them -- forget the algorithm, it only forces users to hunt for the option they want.   4) I have owned a Lumia and an HTC One.  The HTC One sucks, many times a tap on various controls are not recognized, even taps on the visual keyboard are at times frustratingly 'iffy'.  5) on the HTC One it is almost impossible not to hit the 'screen shot' combo when you wish to turn the phone on with your right hand.  That gums up your photos with screen shots.  6)  What is the purpose of the 'peoples' tile continually showing different profile photos of your people?  What does that accomplish?

  • I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble. For help using Windows Phone please post in the Windows Phone forums on http://answers.microsoft.com . You will probably get better help if you provide more details and don't lump unrelated issues into the same thread.

The Building Windows Store apps with C# or VB forum is for developers to discuss writing their own Windows Store apps. I'm not sure what the "create an app" feature you mention is (again: details will help, as will posting in the appropriate forum), but you may want to take a look at App Studio

  • Your customer complains, and what do you do, you say it is 'off topic'.  Incredible.  I hope you realize just how bad this looks.
