ETA on Mobile 6.1 arrival RRS feed

    Does anyone have any REAL info as to the release date for 6.1? It looks good and the updates look 'useful', contrary to MS business practises of past (not too distant, ie Vista).

    according to many websites their will be a press conference next week at the 3GSM in Barcelona, however the specific manufactures/carriers will make their decisions to release these versions for their custom WM 6 roms on their devices.

    Yes!  vendors will decide if they will have an update for their device.  Usually most NEW devices get the update as long as the device has not reached it EOL (End of Life).

    My experience with HTC is that they are ral good about doing updates.  I would expect we will see it on many of their devices ... how long it will take is anybody's guess.

    Thanks for the update...is it carrier specific though? It's it just a simple update/patch as it were, or is this a firmware issue? AND as an afterthought, is there any precedence as far as HTC goes with updates like this...are they first out of the blocks or do they take their time with this kind of issue?

    will be just a waiting game to see what vendors will release an update ....

    i have searched high and low and found nothing .on where i can get the Windows Mobile 6.1  for mt Alltel PPC6800 .

    Like we said....only the providers will decide if they will offer an upgrade. New device will stat coming with the 6.1 version
