creating mirror in whs RRS feed

  • Hi all..

      I have a windows home server, on a hp ml150, 4.5 gig ram, dual 2.8gig xeon cpu's. 2 off 1tb sata hdd's 1 off 500gig sata hdd, and sys disk 233 gig ide drive. The server is fitted with a sata raid card with 5 ports.

      What i want to do is raid 2 hard drives in the raid card bios. does anyone know if this would upset the home server. my thought is the o/s would not know any different. anyone like to to comment. ?

  • It's unlikely that you will be able to simply create a RAID array using a drive that contains data today without losing that data. If you can, it's also very likely that Windows Home Server will no longer recognize it as the same drive, so you will probably see errors in the Windows Home Server console afterward, reporting that the system drive is missing.
