  • Hello Elsa,

Right now, your computer has a Volume Licensing edition of XP Pro installed (Line 8), and that installation was done with a now-blocked Volume Licensing Key (VLK) (Line 2).  VLKs are blocked by Microsoft at the request of the original keyholder for such reasons as the key was lost, stolen, compromised, misused, or expired.  Also, MS may have blocked the key if it notices a pattern of misuse, ie, more installations of XP using that key than authorized.

As a rule, VLk editions of XP should not be sold to individual consumers.  Large corporations, Large Schools and Governments normally use VL editions for flexibility in installing on many computers.  Also, Volume Licenses for Windows XP are Upgrade licenses ONLY and cannot be used as the original or base license for a new computer.

More bad news:  Your Office XP Pro installation is showing as Non-Genuine (Office status=114 means non-Genuine).  It is also installed using a Blocked VLK.

I can provide you 3 options:

    1) Contact the person/company that sold you the software and demand the Genuine Microsoft software, that you paid for. Or a Refund.

    2) Click on the blue star in the System Tray and Submit a Piracy Report to Microsoft. If it is a High Quality counterfeit (go to http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/en/default.mspx for comparisons), you may be eligible for a free replacement.

    3) Click on the blue start in the System Tray and purchase a Windows Genuine Advantage Kit.

    Thank you,
