MSCRM_CONFIG is larger than expected. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have just completed an audit for CRM 2011 on a customer site.  One of the things I noticed was the size of the MSCRM_CONFIG database.  It was around 1.5gb.  Is this too large? Is this something to worry about? What should I be looking out for to stop it getting bigger or to shrink it?

  • I have gone a little further with this.  I have taken a copy of their mscrm_config and restored it locally.  The problem table is the Notifiaciton table.

What populates this table and how come its is so big?  I thought MSCRM_CONFIG is basically just metadata.

Is it safe to truncate this table?

  • You may want to look at applying UR10 - it appears to address an issue with the Notification table get getting cleared.

    • The Notifications table is not cleared. Therefore, an increase occurs in the size of the Notifications table in the MSCRM_CONFIG database.

Thanks.  I didn't see this.  I will apply UR10 and see if it shrinks.
