ConfigMgr WebService - Requested registry access is not allowed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All

I have recently installed ConfigMgr WebService 1.6.0 on a remote server (Separately from my site and database server) and attempting to test one of the operations before adding it to my Task Sequence.

I have clicked on GetCMPackage, entered my secret key and used drivers as the filter. However i am getting an error:-

System.Security.SecurityException: Requested registry access is not allowed.
       at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowSecurityException(ExceptionResource resource)
       at Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey.OpenSubKey(String name, Boolean writable)
       at System.Diagnostics.EventLog.CreateEventSource(EventSourceCreationData sourceData)
       at ConfigMgrWebService.ConfigMgrWebService.WriteEventLog(String logEntry, EventLogEntryType entryType)
       at ConfigMgrWebService.ConfigMgrWebService.GetCMPackage(String secret, String filter)

I have initially made the Application pool user an administrator on the server where ConfigMgr WebService 1.6.0 is installed, however the same error appears.

Please can you provide some assistance/suggestions/recommendations?

  • You need to post this in the CM forum.  This is a scripting forum.
