How to open ALL ports in Windows firewall to a certain IP address using Group Policy? RRS feed

  • Question

  • My Question is : How to open ALL ports in Windows firewall to a certain IP address using Group Policy? I am trying to run Microsoft Assessment and Planning Solution Accelerator [MAP] from a Windows 2003 Server.I created a group policy to open the ports for the MAP running Server IP, for File & Printer Sharing [TCP 139, TCP 445, UDP 137, UDP 138] and Remote Administration Exception [TCP 135, TCP 445] and applied to the Client Machines OU. While running the Assessment, it’s giving the error "RPC Server Unavailable" from the client machines. If the Windows Firewall is turned off on client machines, it will work fine and the assessment will be done. I checked the Windows Firewall Log for the client machines and found certain packets are dropped by the firewall from the MAP running Server. Now I need to open all the ports for that particular IP [MAP Server IP] to the client machines thru group policy. Your support will be highly appreciated.
