Start Process when Record Shared Option RRS feed

    Hi,

    Is it possible to add a Record Shared trigger for Processes like below? If not what would suggest as an alternative method of achieving this or the next best thing?

    No I do not think it is possible to add this trigger to a workflow.

    Depending on what you want to do, you might be able to write a plug-in to perform the required process (this is a development activity).

    Are you sharing records to manage permissions or work load? You might consider using queues instead if your need is on managing work load.

    Really it's about notification. When a record is shared to a user we want to send an email to that user letting them know. At the moment they are having to remember to do this manually. Would a plugin be the best method of achieving this if Processes are out?

    A plugin is the only mechanism whereby you can identify when a record is shared, so that's pretty much your only option to achieve what you want
