XP VLK Blocked RRS feed

  • Question

  • My costumer send his computer for maintenace at my workshop.
After all most maintenance tasks, the last one is Microsoft Update.
When trying this, the microsoft update returns tha xp install is not a genuine one.
After run the validation tool, returns that VLK is blocked.
When prompted my costumer says this is the system he bought with the computer at 2004 and he lost original CD
How to recover this VLK, since the costumer is a poor person no able to buy a new computer?
I hope for help from you folks
Like, There is any way to know the name wich this VLK is registered too or were it is installed for first time?
I think that can be hacked at the store who sold the computer, in that case, i need some info or documents to testify this teory.
    Best regards

  • Is there a COA Sticker on the machine's case? For what version and edition of Windows is it valid?

I assume that the VLK is for Windows XP Pro??

  • A VLK is a "Volume License Key" purchased and used by business enterprises.  It is not usually sold to individuals since one must purchase a minimum of five (5) licenses.  If the VLK is blocked, it means the license is no longer valid as it was reported to Microsoft (by the original owner) as having been lost, stolen, misused or leaked to web sites.
