If you are looking for phone support for Windows Live OneCare -
How to reach support (FAQ) - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2421771&SiteID=2
If you are looking for phone support for Windows Live Hotmail, there is no phone support for free accounts. You can contact Hotmail support here - http://support.live.com
If you have a paid MSN or Windows Live Hotmail Plus! account, sign in at http://support.msn.com and you may have phone support available, depending on your region.

Lyle, try these methods for obtaining telephone support:
[removed phone number for support as it is only valid for paid subscribers after validation]
You can also try to uninstall OneCare and reinstall it back again using the Cleanup tool and the OneCare 2.0 setup. ....
This is the link for the OneCare setup Just click on INSTALL WINDOWS LIVE ONECARE writen in blue and then save it on the desktop http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/install/install.htm .
But before you click on install Download and save this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=81699 .
Save it on the desktop as well.
Remember the Live ID you used to activate the account as well as the password so you can activate OneCare once again.

I have spent 2 days trying to renew my One care. I get to the place that you pay then nothing happens.

To renew your subscription:
Open OneCare, click on Help/About... Note the subscription ID shown
Open your browser and sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com with the LiveID shown as the subscription ID in OneCare.
Select the OneCare subscription shown.
Click "renew this service."
You should see a page with the following (as of 2/26/08 verified with a US paid account):
Plan Description
To renew your subscription with a Product Key or prepaid PIN, click here.
To renew your subscription with a credit card, direct debit, or other payment method, click Next.
Select the option you prefer and provide the requested information. Note that renewal takes effect on the date that your current subscription expires and that it may take up to 24 hours to reflect the updated subscription status in OneCare.
If you encounter an error, "Unable to complete request" 2002, when following the renewal link from within OneCare (when OneCare advises you to renew your subscription as an action to take) this means that you have signed in with an incorrect LiveID, that is, not the LiveID associated with your current subscription. You will need to retry your sign-in with the correct LiveID which can be located in Help/About OneCare... in the main OneCare program interface.
If you enter your payment information and it clears the entered data, but does not proceed, check to make sure that there are no dashes or other punctuation in any of the boxes for your name, address, phone, credit card, and so on.
If you encounter any problems, contact support:

If you are a validated paid subscriber and open an email request for support they will provide a phone support number if you include a request for one in your original request for help. I got an emailed answer within 24 hours as promised (though by the time it arrived the problem was solved ) and a phone number to call since I had asked if there is one. Apparently the number is not online or in the materials that come in the box (should be since if you have the box you can validate your subscription anyway) Request one via email. Once you have it I would imagine it works as long as you have the subscription. They implied it will. Anyone know if it actually does?

I think you are asking if the validation will provide the phone number. Yes, if you have OneCare installed and it can be validated when you go through the support contact flow as described in the FAQ, it will present you with phone, chat, and email as your support options - or whatever is valid for your country.
I agree that the phone number really should be in the retail package.

Yes, it is a joke and a crime to imply they provide one year of support to paid subscribers. I'm paid and activated and still after 3 hours of trying to work with MS preprogrammed generic responses they call instant help...I've gotten no help and no phone number to call. Bottom line there is no human support!!!!!!!!Sunday, May 25, 2008 8:48 PM

Bottom line there is no human support!!!!!!!! The information here should help get you to support, which is available via phone to paid subscribers. However, if the process can't validate your subscription, you get email support.

I feel your pain. It's a common theme here. This is a purchase, it should be easy.
2 nights now I've tried to install One Care. I'm no slouch, I work in semiconductors on and have been a system admin for a Windows network before. This thing is mysterious. And the circle that they put me through to try to get support is rediculous. I just want to talk to support and get this installed. Otherwise I mail them my PC and switch to MAC!!!!!

Until you've activated the subscription, support is via email, which I think is unfortunate for purchasers of a retail copy. The process is explained in the FAQ post.
However, if you explained what your specific problem with the install is, perhaps we can provide some direction.
See this post for the KB article to troubleshoot install problems - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1588602&SiteID=2

Ken, if the trial was previously installed on the PC, you can use it for 15 days before purchase or you would need to format the drive and reinstall the operating system, in which case you can get a full 90 day trial as this would be a "new" PC at that point.
