Windows 7 is not genuine. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased my Windows 7 from Dell but now after a few months it says that it is not genuine. Why is this and how can I fix it without having to purchase another one?

  • Please do not create duplicate threads for the same issue.  Noel and I already answered in your other thread.

If you mean by "I purchased my Windows 7 from Dell..." that you purchased a Dell recovery disk, then you purchased the wrong product.  You are attempting to use an OEM System Locked Preinstallation copy of Windows 7

    Windows Product ID Type: 2
    Windows License Type: OEM SLP

on a computer that was built three years before Windows 7 was released to manufacturers.

    <Date>20061201000000.000000+000</Date>

This license is invalid on your computer.  Restore the original copy of Windows or purchase a retail full license copy of Windows 7 and reinstall.
