How do I find out if I have 60 day trial version of Money Plus? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I upgraded from MS Money 2004 to Money Plus Deluxe v17.0.120.3817 .
The download site said I was installing the 60 day trial version.

When I start the program I do not get any message asking me to Activate or saying that I have the 60 day trial version.
I cannot find anything on the Tools menu or any other place in the program that indicates that I need to Activate and that I actually the 60 day trial version
It appears that I have the regular version

I don’t want to wait for 60 days to find out what I have, or have it expire

How do I find out if I have 60 day trial version?
What should I do if I do?
If I have the regular usable version, will I ever have to pay anything?

  • Version is not a trial version.

I don't know what "download site" you might have been using.  The Microsoft download site does not say "trial" for the Sunset versions. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/search.aspx?q=MONEY

  • Thanks for replying

I just went to the page you suggested

And selected  the Money Plus Sunset Deluxe download

And it dowloaded and bought me to this page

    that said

    Thank you for downloading
    Money Plus Sunset Deluxe

    But when I go to
    Start > All Programs
the only Money program that is there is
Microsoft Money Plus > Money Plus
When I open the program and look at
    Help > About Microsoft Money
    it says I have
    Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe v17.0.120.3817

  • That's the way it works. Not a trial. The US Sunset versions are Money Plus with online functions disabled therefore not requiring servers to work. If you want to see the word "Sunset" in your installation, see Help->About->LicenseTerms.

Save your installation file in a safe place. We don't know how long the download will be available.

  • You are right

I looked at the License Terms and I've got it

And in Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
    I saw Microsoft Money Plus
    Is that a safe place?

  • You are in the right place in your installation. Everything you describe meets expectations for a good installation, Pushing buttons in the Add/Remove Programs would be unsafe.
