  • Hi,

As far as I know there is no option in outlook to switch off bithdays in the calander. You will need to delete the birthday event manually.

You can try a work around though.

1- Create a custom Bday field. Call it cust_Birthday and remove the field from the form. (NOT DELETE)

2- Move all birthday data from the default Bday field to this new custom field and resets the original field. (You can do this using a tool like scribe or write some custom code that does it for you.)

3- Sync outlook again. All Birthday reimiders will be gone. (This is becasue you've kept the bday information in MS CRM but tricked outlook into thinking there is no bday data.)

This will fix the problem in outlook and stop it from happening again.

  • Hi Hussain,

I tried your solution and resetted the old birthdays as null value . But the old birthday reminders are still there. Moreover the new birthday reminders also got allocated in the outlook which annoys the users

  • Hi Aarch,

This is very strange. The link below shows the mapping between the MS CRM fields and Outlook contact fields.

You CANNOT add fields to this mapping or remove them via configuration. I do not understand how the new custom birthday field could have mapped to any field in Outlook or caused any new reminders! This simply should not happen.

If encourage you to try the steps I provided again in a TEST environment. If the results are different you will need to identify the cause of the peculiar behaviour you've experienced in the live environment.

What version of Outlook are you using? My solution was tested with MS Outook 2007 and MSCRM v4.0.
