Win7 x64 Win server 2008 x86 CA CSP CertEnrollCtrl.exe RRS feed

  • Hi all,

Recently, I got a trouble in enroll certificate online.

I used Windows server 2008 Enterprise x86 to build CA server, and it works well when we using x86 OS(such as, Win7 x86 and WinXP x86) to enroll certificate on website with IE. But it doesn't work(I mean iI cann't see my 32-bit CSPs in CSP list) when we using x64 OS(Win7 SP1 x64, IE9). I used procexp.exe to view what happend when login CA web site. I saw there is a ActiveX (X509CertEnroll) called when we login CA website. I use x86 IE but it called x64 CertEnrollCtrl.exe, why not x86 CertEnrollCtrl.exe? I replace "system32\CertEnrollCtrl.exe" and "system32\CertEnroll.dll" with "syswow64\CertEnrollCtrl.exe" and "syswow64\CertEnroll.dll", then, it work well! Why IE9 x86 call CertEnrollCtrl X64 not CertEnrollCtrl X86? Are there some bugs with CertEnroll ActiveX ? Or some other?
