Invalid Product Key! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Second post to this forum, not  sure where the first went! edit - it takes over one and a half hours for a post to appear on this forum! At least that answers that questiion.

OneNote 2007 validation key was working, now it is not. Worked fine when I downloaded the software from Student Options UK and validated on my previous Windows XP laptop. Now I've come to validate on a replacement Windows Vista laptop the message I receive is that the validation key is invalid! Is it too much trouble to request software that works without hassle please? Where do I get a new *valid* validation code that works for the software that I have legally purchased?

    Thanks in advance.

Second update after complete uninstall - though the first update seems to be lost in the ether of this boards workings.

Have reinstalled OneNote 2007 and tried my previously valid product key, still no joy. Also requested a 60 day trial product key of OneNote 2007, CDGRM-V63FD-H4BKM-QPXYV-J2TW6 , even this product key does not work. It produces the same error as for the full product key.

So where exactly is the activation window picking up its information on what is and what isn't a valid product key? Cause it knows ***.

I'm now downloading a second copy of OneNote 2007 from the Microsoft website and will try once more with that.

  • Have just this moment finished downloading the new OneNote 2007 trial file. Ran through the installation and as usually it asked for my product key. Tried applying the 60 day version and it accepted it showing me a box for an 8 digit number which can apparent be found on the product packaging - yea right - this was a download! You just couldn't make this up, could you! So, stuck at this point I tried my full version product key and I was able to install with this product key without being asked for an 8 digit number. Success! Having now got passed the product key farce I have been able to fully activate OneNote 2007.

I'll be sticking with my Office 2003 for the forseeable future  Smile Hopefully that won't take me the best part of a day to troubleshoot, be run around with 'customer services' or try posting to a board that updates every other hour whilst installing it.

    Hello Blake,

I have been having almost the same problem, i went to MS office here in Pakistan and that is what the answer was.

I bought and Office 2007 Home and Student.

now if YOU have the same office that I have here is what you should do...

Order backup CDs at http://www.microsoft.com/office/backup/ and wait for the cds to arrive when they come there will be four in the bundle take out the CD which has "MS Office 2007 Home and Student" written on it and then install from that CD, DONOT use the cd labeled "MS Office 2007 professional" as i was told MS Office 2007 Home and student is a whole diffrent package (diffrent from all the rest of MS Offices)

Once you install from that CD it will accept your cd key...
