computer wont start or boot from cd

Question

hi
I have just started working in an it section and i am having a problem which i will be gratefull for any help.
On my screen at the moment is ;
Attempting to boot from cd-rom
Starting CD... OK
(Then \bcdw\bcdw. ini and other symbols ??)
This is an old pc which i have to take a ghost image from before upgrading from 2000 to xp. The above message has been displayed on the screen and hasnt changed for the hour i was on lunch break for. I also tried just starting up the computer normally but this wont work either. Another thing that has happened is when the cd is loading the white lines go all across the screen to represent the loadiong of the boot cd but when they get to the end nothing else happens and i have to restart computer.
I hope i have made sense here and if anyone else can point me in the right direction i would be gratefull.
Thanks in advance for any help i recieve.Wednesday, June 25, 2008 1:20 PM

You're welcome. Best of luck in getting the system back up and running. And when you do, give Live Mesh a try.
