Handling events from CRM 2011 (w/o a plugin) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I understand plugins are the preferred way in all versions of CRM to handle events (new, updated or deleted entities etc).

However, is it possible to get event notifications in the web services interfaces in 2011 (via a WS-Notification for example)?

I need to develop an integration w/o using a plugin and I don't want to be polling or anything ugly like that...

    Thanks in advance,

    Jonathan K.

  • You need to use plugins.

The alternative is a polling (as you wrote) or attach the notifications to the javascript events (but javascript events are not reliable for an integration)

  • Hi,

Well JavaScript is out (that much is certain) and there are no other ways via any of the other SDKs, right?

Hmmm... how fast / efficient are queries to CRM 2011?

  • Look at:-

This command returns a string representing the XML that will be sent to the server when the record is saved. Only data in fields that have changed are set to the server.
