But I bought Office at a regular retailer

Question

I purchased Office Home and Studnet 2007 a year ago at Fry's Electronics in Arlington, Texas. That's a well-known, retailer with stores nationwide. There is no reason for me to think the software is bogus. What is the problem. I am pasting the diagnostics below:

At the moment, your Acer Aspire computer has two installations of Office on it. One is the genuine retail copy of Office Home and Student 2007 that you mentioned, and the other is a nongenuine installation of a volume licensing edition of Office Enterprise 2007 that was done with an invalid volume licensing product key.
The nongenuine Office Enterprise 2007 installation is the one that is causing the nongenuine notices.
To correct this situation:
1. From the Programs applet of the Control Panel, uninstall Office Enterprise 2007. Restart twice.
2. Next go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on the Validate Office button. Your remaining Office Home and Student 2007 should validate normally. Restart once more.
3. Next, open one or more Office H&S 2007 programs, checking for the nongenuine notices.
4. If no more nongenuine notices, you are done.
5. If continued nongenuine notices, we have to clean up some remnants left behind by the nongenuine Office Enterprise 2007.
6. If continued nongenuine notices, click on the Learn More Online link in the notice. This takes you to an Office Genuine Advantage informational webpage, but also in the background forces the OGA Notifier Utility to reset and recheck your Office status. Let that work in the background for about a minute, then close all programs and restart.
7. Next, open one or more Office H&S 2007 programs, checking for the nongenuine notices.
8. If no more nongenuine notices, you are done.
9. If continued nongenuine notices, there are still remnants left behind by the nongenuine Office Enterprise 2007. Please post back for additional instructions.
