Installation issues

Question

When I try to install the one care program first the cd does not automatically start and when I try to manually start it through my computer this message comes up: the application has failed to start becasue the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
The thing is that I can't find it anywhere as an installed program in order to remove it then reinstall it.
Please help!

Download and run the install cleanup tool - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=828910&SiteID=2 then install the One Care 90 day trial from here - http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/default.htm
To activate, open One Care, select "Subscribe", follow the prompts and when you reach the payment page select "Pre-Paid PIN or Token" as the payment method. Enter the 25 character product key included with the One Care CD and your subscription will become active.

Thanks! I'm still having problems though. I've checked and my machine does have the minimum system requirements. When I try to run the uninstall program that the link sent me to this message comes up: C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.NET/Framework/V2.0.5072/Mscorwks.dill could not be loaded.

Try repairing net framework 2.0. Go to add/remove programs>net framework 2.0>Change/Remove, select the repair option. If this does not resolve the issue uninstall net framework 2.0 and reinstall it. You can download it from here - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=enMonday, July 14, 2008 5:37 PMModerator
