How Safe Is WHS11 Remote Desktop? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have now done everything I need to enable Remote Desktop on my computers, including upgrading one Home OS, and can institute connections via the Server (Great).

However, my source of information is "Windows Home Server Unleaserd v3: 2011" and in its 700 pages there are about 15-25 on WHS security with many links.

I read all this and I think I am secure, or as secure as I can be with this product, but are there any gotchas here?

I have strong passwords on all users and the server.  The minimal # of ports are open (443 4125- WHS avoids use of 3389).  I invoked Network Level Authentication.

Am I missing anything?????  The impression I get from the book is that this is safer than a direct RA connect since you do not open Port 3389....

    Thanks for the help!
