Cannot unistall add-in or access settings page RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to access my Settings page from my console and every time I try the console times out. I am using WHS v1 (not Vail/2011). Occasional when I access the console I get a message that the P80 add-in is not functioning correctly and to retry or skip. I choose skip and it doesn't load, but I am unable to uninstall the add-in since I cannot access the settings page. I found directions for uninstalling an add-in manually here:

    http://www.wegotserved.com/2009/08/25/how-to-manually-uninstall-a-windows-home-server-add-in/

But wasn't sure how reliable the instructions were and I'm not sure it will fix my problem either. Any suggestions or additional information needed?

  • As long as the add-in doesn't install anything else (just itself) that procedure should work fine. You should consider contacting the publisher of the add-in for assistance in removing it, however.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • It's actually my inability to access the settings page that has me more worried. Any ideas there?

  • It's likely to be related to the issue with the add-in.
