Vista Validation Problem

Question
-
Hi,
Been running Vista Home Prem for about two weeks with minor problems. Yesterday I attempted to validate it and received a message that I needed to activate first. Well, I thought I did that when first installed, but tried again anyway. When I did, I received a message telling me that it was already activated.
This morning when I boot up my computer, I see a message that my copy is not genuine. I also saw a popup that indicated that Aero has been turned off because my copy is not genuine.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello Seeker2,
If your System Properties window is showing that you're activated and online validation says you're not, please phone activate by opening a command prompt and typing: slui 4
Follow the prompts through phone activation (be ready for lots of numbers) and then reboot.
Once you're done, please revalidate by clicking on "Validate Windows" here: www.microsoft.com/genuine
Let me know if that works. Thanks a lot!

Hi and sorry,
What I did was I reinstalled Vista Home Prem and validated it before introducing any drivers, or software. That appeared to work and except for having to contact MS by phone due to my copy of Vista having already been in use, it was no real hastle.
I am curious to know why this happened though.
Anyway, thank you for responding!
