Size of the attachment limitation RRS feed

  • Hi  Friends,

    for attaching a file in ms crm the size is limited to 8 Mb by default, if i edit the webconfig file and increase the size, how much size will be better option not affecting the performance of the application or vulnerables for the application



    Any suggestions

  • It's not as much a question of overall performance or vulnerability - but every attachment becomes a part of the overall CRM database and could increase the size of the DB much faster than you expect. - this will result in longer databas backup times and the time to retrieve that specific attachment will be slower than if it was stored in a file system.

    One large file will not hurt, but turning CRM into a document library is not it's best use, - For that type of need, consider incorporating a sharepoint document library and linking it to CRM. (This is a common practice and there are many discussions about how to do this online - and there is now a new class from Microsoft on Sharepoint-CRM integration.)
