Any problems with debugging plugins stored in the gac? (CRM4) RRS feed

  • Hi ppl,

    Is it possible to debug plugins after i store the dll in the gac?

    If it is, then how?

    And is problematic?

    Perhaps daft question, but is it absolutely neccesary to put the plugin in GAC? I'm only asking as I believe the .net FW would usually try to locate an assemblies within the same folder as that where the code is running from, so could you not copy the assembly to the same folder as where the plugin/workflow/i.e is running from?

    I know with 3.0 a callout could be executed from either I.E or workflow which affected which process you had to attach to.

    Either way (I know this is rather obvious) but it is usually good to be able to have sufficient traceing within your application such that it can be debugged on a live client environment without causing the system to lock while you step through code.
